The Odyssey

Thursday 10 February, 7.00pm

BGS Drama students invite you to their portrayal of the mythological world of The Odyssey, with a script adapted by award-winning writer Hattie Naylor.

Homer's epic poem follows the Greek hero Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his journey home after the Trojan War. After ten years of war, his journey home lasts for another ten years, during which time he wrestles with the man he has become.

He survives the terror of the Skylla, Charybdis and the Cyclops, resists the charms of Circe and watches all his men die. In his absence, our King is assumed dead, and his wife Penelope and son Telemachus have to contend with a group of unruly suitors who are competing for Penelope's hand in marriage. Odysseus must meet the son he last saw as a baby, the wife he left twenty years ago and now face the suitors who have tried to take his place.

A limited capacity of 200 tickets has been set for each performance.
